Comments: Threatened by much of its lowland forest habitat being first logged heavily for ebony wood, then cleared for sugarcane plantations and farming, on the islands of Mauritius and Reunion Island. Further threatened by feral deer and pigs browsing the seedlings, and weed invasion of its remaining habitat.
