Comments: Occurs in lowland dry forest on the islands of Kauai and Oahu in Hawai'i. Habitat cleared for farmland by Polynesian settlers since the fourth century and by Europeans since the late eighteenth century. Now further threatened by cattle and goats browsing, and rooting by pigs, resulting in weed invasion of moister sites.
