Chamaedorea radicalis

Family: Arecaceae (Palm)
Distribution: Mexico
Life form: Palm
Comments: Central Mexico, in cool rainforest understorey at medium to high altitude. Vulnerable due to leaf harvest for the international cut flower market. Thought to be the most cold hardy species of chamaedorea, and tolerates sun, but is relatively slow growing. Notably, flowers arise from near, or below ground level.
