Queensland, from central Cape York south to near Gladstone. Occurs in swampy sites and rainforests in the coastal lowlands and adjacent ranges. Very popular in cultivation where they can be grown in shade or sun (as long as water is freely available). Grows as quickly as 1 m per year.
